Call Me By Your Name by André Aciman

Call Me By Your Name by André Aciman {Goodreads}
Published by Picador in 2007
Paperback edition; 248 pages

Call Me By Your Name is the love story of Elio and Oliver, a love that blossoms during summer in Italy. Elio is there with his parents and Oliver is their guest for the summer time while he works on a book. There, they fell in love but are unprepared for the consequences of that love; a love that will stay in their hearts forever.

It's been almost a week since I finished the book but it's quite difficult to talk about it. Sometimes you have loads to say about a book and words just type themselves in the computer. Sometimes it doesn't. I will say this: the story is beautiful; a summer love written in a very thoughtful, melancholic tone. It's not a happy story but it is beautiful nonetheless. Quite explicit too -- sexually speaking -- so keep that in mind if you don't feel comfortable reading those kinds of scenes.

Since finishing the book I've had time to go and see the movie and oh, my... it was PERFECTION. It captures so well the summer vibe atmosphere in Italy and the emotions of the characters. I can say I love the movie more that I did the book and the actors made such a terrific job -- Timothée Chalamet is a force to be reckoned with. It is sad but I managed to keep my tears at bay until Elio's father has a talk with him. That scene is identical to the one in the book but it is far more powerful and that's thanks to Michael Stuhlbarg's acting. If you don't feel like picking up the book, you should watch the movie.

Maybe you don’t know this about me but I collect different edition of Jane Eyre and when I learnt that Vintage was releasing the new Brontë series I just couldn’t say no.

April 2017

And another month goes by. To be fair, this time it didn't fly around for me; it was quite a slow month in general and I spent half of it reading - I can't even believe I have managed to read all of these books -  and half of it studying for University. I'm all caught up with all my courses and I'm ready to start revising for finals which will be at the end of May/beginning of June. I'm still in awe that for once in my life, I've being productive as hell if I say so myself. Hurray! Basically I wrote down all I had to do and I organised it throughout the first three weeks of April. At the same time I told myself I had to read for fun at least 30 minutes every single day in order to avoid being slumpy due to stress. It worked.

The Gif Tag!

Jess over at My Reading Dress – seriously, go follow her! – tagged me a while ago to do the Gif Tag and I haven’t been able to post it earlier because I have no clue about technology and I couldn’t make the gifs work so I had to investigate a bit. Also, I haven’t read most of the books of the list. I really hope this works out alright so without further ado, let’s get started! Oh, I might have used more than one gif for some of the books...
