Book Haul # 8

“I’m gonna go into the bookshop but just to browse. I don’t intend to buy anything”, said no reader ever. I just can’t help myself. I have a problem but it is okay because it’s mine only – well, and also my parents’ and sisters’, who are going to be one day buried under all the books... but that isn’t really a horrible fate now, I think :P

So, as you can guess today I have another book haul. Both Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland editions have been on my radar for a while and once the one designed by Anna Bond came out I placed my order. But of course I took the opportunity to add some more books to my collection: The Brontë Series published by Vintage Classics and two titles by Salt (Jen Campbell is to blame for these ones since she's constantly praising Salt). The rest of them I got when I went to Pasajes looking for A Wild Swan and Other Tales by Michael Cunningham. This will most likely be my last book haul in a while. I might be travelling to Ireland next February to visit a friend working as an au pair there and I wanna save most of my money for that. Fingers crossed I can actually build enough willpower to get me through the next three tortuous months of not buying books.

Vintage Classics: Brontë Series

Maybe you don’t know this about me but I collect different edition of Jane Eyre and when I learnt that Vintage was releasing the new Brontë series I just couldn’t say no.

Reading Diary | February Books | 2018

Feb, 1st - 15:15. Finished the second book in the first volume of the Riyria Revelations and I was pleasantly surprised. I still think the world building is the weakest thing about the story because it's not greatly developed but the story is well-written and entertaining. I'm planning on continuing reading the series because now I'm intrigued enough to want to know how everything will unfold. Feb, 7th - 10:33.  I'm finally prepared to go and see the movie Call Me By Your Name because I just finished reading the novel. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It is a celebration of love and an exploration of sex and identity. It's quite explicit though so if you feel uncomfortable with that keep it in mind if you're planning on reading it. My full review of the book is HERE (I also talk a little bit about the movie).
