A Day in Bookland

Since last week I didn’t do a TTT, today instead of sticking to 10 books I’m going to tell you about some classics I want to read (without sticking to 10)… there are some I will get to for sure since they will most likely be required reading for my different Uni courses but others, I’m just curious about. I will try to keep this short and simple…

TOP TEN TUESDAY   is a weekly book meme hosted by   The Broke and The Bookish . I find the topic a bit harsh because, you know… never say never. It’s true there are millions of books out there that I’ll never read. A lifetime is not enough sometimes. I was gonna upload this straightaway after coming home from my doctor’s appointment but I decided to do a bit of a disclaimer. I’ve been reading tweets about how hateful this week TTT posts are turning out to be. First of all, we need to take into account the reasons why a certain person decides to not read a book. However, we also need to take into account that others can be hurt by our opinions. So, before getting down to business I wanna apologize if you like any of the books I’m gonna talk about. Neither the book nor the author will be bashed. My two main reasons to build up this list are: one, I didn’t like the first book in the series so I won’t be continuing it or two, I lost interest in it.

TOP TEN TUESDAY   is a weekly book meme hosted by   The Broke and The Bookish . Today’s topic is a bit complicated for me; it’s sometimes easy to list your favourite books but not your authors. Or, at least, I find it hard sometimes. Most people consider an author their favourite when they’re read and loved all of his/her work. But I don’t follow that rule exactly. Let’s just say I read a book by a certain author and I love it… the most likely scenario is that that author would become a favourite which means I would try and track down his/her entire bibliography and read it. My list today features a few authors that follow that explanation: I’ve only read one of their books but it was enough to know I will follow their work. I hope this makes some sense. Have you ever finished a book and then wonder what would have been of those characters you either loved or hated after the novel ended? I do. Constantly. I love to day-dream about how the lives of those characters went afterwards. The possibilities are endless and so this week I’m gonna tell you my top 10 characters I would love to check in with.

I wanna read ALL the books; if only time-turners were a thing. Where is McGonagall when needed? Anyways, Spring is my most hated season. People will find this outrageous but I suffer from hay fever and Spring can be a pain in the ass – I’m looking at you pollen, flowers and whatnot.

I do, quite a few times. I don't know why but sometimes they are awesome and you just wish there could be more pages dedicated to them. Some don’t do it because why would you re-read something when there are so many books out there waiting to be read? However, it’s true as well that I don’t re-read every single book I read; only those that are special to me. One of the many benefits of reading is the possibility of going places without really leaving your house, or well, the place where you read. And it is no secret books have the ability of making the reader want to visit places, whether they are real or not. Sometimes this can be frustrating for two main reasons: one, if the place does not exist you can’t physically visit it and two, if you are a broke Uni student you can’t afford to visit the real ones. Either way, it sucks. But anyways, at the end of the day I can still just grab a book and go everywhere. Cool, huh? And people say reading is a waste of time…
