A Day in Bookland

April is over. Like, what is life? I hate May…. I’m sorry, it’s nothing personal but May is “exam-month” for me and it’s not fun. You will see me complain soon enough on both here and twitter once the dreadful exam dates approach… in the meantime, today’s post is dedicated to what I’ve read in April and a few more stuff because it’s nice to share a bit more than just books, innit? April was a good reading month for me. I’ve read 11 books (one on my phone, and that’s why is not in the picture… oops!) and some were nice and others were a disaster, let me tell you, but I’m still quite happy with it. I also took part in the Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon for the first time and I had a lot of fun, truly. The biggest part of my reading was done the first two weeks of April. I picked a book right after the other; my mood at the time allowed it but then, something happened, which I would fangirl about later so stay tuned! It was earlier last year when I found out about Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon and even though I know is almost impossible to read 24 hours non-stop I think the idea is brilliant. A Readathon worldwide; readers from every country coming together at the same time for an entire day to read, read and read. My start time is Saturday 2PM and it would end Sunday 1:59PM. I’ve never taken part myself but lately my motivation to read is lacking – and by that I mean I’m completely obsessed with Netflix’s Daredevil. TOP TEN TUESDAY   is a weekly book meme hosted by   The Broke and The Bookish . Today’s topic is a bit complicated for me; it’s sometimes easy to list your favourite books but not your authors. Or, at least, I find it hard sometimes. Most people consider an author their favourite when they’re read and loved all of his/her work. But I don’t follow that rule exactly. Let’s just say I read a book by a certain author and I love it… the most likely scenario is that that author would become a favourite which means I would try and track down his/her entire bibliography and read it. My list today features a few authors that follow that explanation: I’ve only read one of their books but it was enough to know I will follow their work. I hope this makes some sense. Hello there, fellow bookworms! I know my last bookhaul was posted about a month ago and I wasn’t really planning on buying any more books but my plans didn’t go very well as you can see. Still, this is the last you’ll see in a few months because I’m saving for my trip to London, where I will most likely buy some books because… physical bookshops and stuff.

There is something exhilarating yet terrifying about finishing a book series . We want to know how the story will end; but don’t fool yourselves, in reality what we really wanna see is if the story ends as we thought it would – in other words, as we want it to end. Unfortunately, most of the time, it doesn’t and although that doesn’t imply you won’t like it, it also means uncertainty and let’s face it, nobody fancies that feeling.
