December 2015

December has been long gone and I’m aware this wrap-up comes to you a bit late but besides the Christmas madness, I’m also being giving all my time to catching up with Uni work. I haven’t even been reading that much. In fact, I haven’t really opened a book in the last two weeks. Anyways, the most noteworthy thing that happened during December was Star Wars. One of my sisters and I did a marathon for the previous six films (I had previously seen the 3 prequels) but we both wanted to see this new film and we thought doing a marathon would be a nice idea and oh boy, did we enjoy it! And the new film is epicness personified. We went to the movie theater with a friend of mine and all of us had a terrific time. When the movie ended, we were like: “nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, we want more and more and more”. Waiting for Episode VIII is gonna be torture for sure! Have you guys seen the movie?

Top Reads of 2015

2015 has only a few hours left to live before he opens the path to 2016 and I wanted to share today my favourite reads of 2015, alongside some honourable mentions.

November 2015

November seemed to go on forever and I’m glad is over. To give you an idea, it feels as if most of the fun things I did didn’t happen in November but a long time ago.

October 2015

October was… paradoxical. University started at the beginning of the month and I was so ready for it. I’m still ready for it and I’m loving every second but I’m drowned in work and I don’t even wanna think how my levels of stress will be in the next couple of months if they’re pretty bad right now. At least I’m enjoying what I’m doing so that’s okay, I guess. The clocks have gone backwards and although autumn is my favourite season of the year, I dread the darkness. I feel the days are slipping away from my hands and it doesn’t help me de-stress. I go to my classes in the afternoon and it’s a bit daunting to leave the house when it’s already pitch black and I would rather be home, warm and on my pyjamas.

September 2015

Someone please tell me where September has gone to because I seriously have no idea. I know this is such a cliché to say but this time, it’s true. My month can be summarized as a lot of car drives to our village (by that I mean where my grandparents used to live when they were young) to spend time with my grandma and aunt. It’s nice to get away from time to time but also tiring. Uni hasn’t started yet and I’m getting a bit bored if I’m honest. October 6 th can’t come soon enough (I’m pretty sure once it is here I will start complaining about it though…) Reading wise, I’ve read a mix of genres: Fantasy, classics, literary fiction and YA. I even managed to squeeze a non-fiction book about fairytales into my reading month as well. And I have to say, not counting Percy Jackson, I’ve been reviewing every single book I’ve read which I’m very happy about. Two of those reviews will be up later this week though.

August 2015

Today we say goodbye to August. I won't say I will miss summer after the horrible - and by horrible I mean unbearable hot - weather. I don't know how people can stand it. Bring me autumn already! When I picked up the books to make the picture for this wrap-up, I was surprised to see 9 (although two can count as novellas) and I can't but wonder how many books could I have actually read if I hadn't been on a slump for over 2 weeks. Most of my reading was done at the beginning when I took part in the Booktube-a-thon (I got to read 4 books and a half). Anyways, here are the books I've read in August:

July 2015

July is over. I'll say it again. July is over. I'm not panicking, you are... Anyways, July hasn't been an overly exciting month for me besides turning 24 even though that wasn't exciting at all. 24 years old... is gonna take some time getting used to. But then again I still say I'm 20 (unconsciously of course) when people ask *shrugs*. For a few months now I've been including more stuff than only books on my wrap-ups. However, I'm doing this on a rush (I'm not proud to say it though) and I will talk about the books I've read this month, which is more than enough really because I've read 14 books. How I managed to do so is still a mystery to me but taking part in the #24in48 readathon might have something to do with it since I managed to read 5 books and a half in 2 days (most of them were very short)

A Bookworm In London. The Fourth & Fifth Days

Welcome to my last post about my trip to London (noooooooooooooooooo.....) but you know, "good things, when short, are twice as good". Since the fifth day was all about travelling back to Spain I decided to join both days together. The only memorable thing about the fifth day though was seeing Katie McGrath - who played Morgana in the BBC Merlin series - walking her dog down the street when I was waiting for the bus. I didn't ask for a picture because a) she was walking her dog; b) my face wasn't at its finest - that's what a good old cold would do to you and c) I am too shy, sometimes too much for my own good. She was inches away from me. And she is gorgeous indeed. Anyway, let's rewind and go back to day four. Our last official day and we spent it shopping. What a surprise! Still, we had a last touristy thing to do: visit Buckingham Palace. I visited it on my first trip ever 8 years ago but it was the first time for my sister's friend and so we had ...

A Bookworm In London. The Third Day

Welcome to the third day of our London adventure! We woke up rather early to try and be as productive as the other days but little did I know my cold was about to get much worse. Anyways, feeling like utter shit (there is no softer way to put it) we left the hotel and caught a bus towards Trafalgar Square. Once there, we had to catch yet another bus to get us to St. Paul's Cathedral. Thank goodness for buses, otherwise our poor feet wouldn't have lasted through the day. While on the bus, we could see St. Paul's Cathedral and oh my, WHAT A SIGHT! It's stunning and it's just right there, in the middle of several streets, like: "hey! look at me! I'm gorgeous!" No, seriously guys, it's a stunner! We couldn't go in, I believe they were doing some ceremony *sad face* but it's on the list for the next visit ;) As I said, A BEAUTY! After walking around the Cathedral, we headed towards Millennium Brigde (which you can se...

A Bookworm in London. The Second Day

And I'm back with day 2 of my London trip. As I told you on Day 1, we decided to go to King's Cross because you can't really be a Harry Potter fan and skip THAT (we also wished to go to the Harry Potter Studios but since my other sister couldn't make it to the trip we dropped the idea. We want to go together). Also, before getting down to business, you need to know I caught a cold. Not the greatest timing I know, but what can you really do? I woke up feeling a bit ill - both my throat and nose hurt and although, I initially thought it was due to hay-fever, it wasn't really. Air-con was the problem. It wasn't that hot in London, like 24ºC, but I guess it was for them and my body didn't take the temperature changes very well, I'm afraid. Anyways, we got up rather early, like 7:30am or so, just for the single purpose of enjoying a more relaxed day - we didn't want to experience again the exhaustion of the day before. But first things first: breakfast t...

A Bookworm in London. The First Day

2015 has been the year in which I've come back to London after 8 years. 8 YEARS! The last time I was there I was 15 (about to turn 16). Mental, I know. My sisters and I have been planning to go back for a long time and we finally decided 2015 was the year. Unfortunately one of my sisters couldn't come due to work but it's okay; we will be back to visit the Harry Potter Studios - we want to go the three of us together like the big HP nerds we are ^^. One of my little sister's friends came along as well. In this first post, I'm gonna tell you all what we did the first day which may seem like not a lot but believe me, we were exhausted at the end of the day. The 16th we woke up at 4 am (never again, I swear) to go to the airport. Our flight was due at 7 am. You guys need to know I'm a bit scared of flying and I always get quite panicky during both the takeoff and the landing. My mind decides to go crazy picturing catastrophic scenarios... you know, the usual s...

June 2015

Hello there! Long time, no see, I guess. I feel like I owe all of you an explanation as to why I haven't been so active with the blog. My initial hiatus was meant to last 3 weeks (when I was having my finals) but things happened. This wrap-up is gonna be a little different but no worries, books are also in it :) I didn't know whether to talk about personal stuff here but then again, I've been interacting with a lot of you and there is no point in being secretive about it. At the end of May, I lost my (maternal) grandfather and it was quite unexpected. He was not ill or anything. He just woke up and felt bad and that was it. He died on his bed, with my grandma and my aunt with him and even though it has been hard, at least I know he lived a fully life and died surrounded by those who loved him. This happened after being done with my first week of finals and it set the mood for the next weeks. I know is gonna take a while to fully accept it but time heals everything. ...

April 2015

April is over. Like, what is life? I hate May…. I’m sorry, it’s nothing personal but May is “exam-month” for me and it’s not fun. You will see me complain soon enough on both here and twitter once the dreadful exam dates approach… in the meantime, today’s post is dedicated to what I’ve read in April and a few more stuff because it’s nice to share a bit more than just books, innit? April was a good reading month for me. I’ve read 11 books (one on my phone, and that’s why is not in the picture… oops!) and some were nice and others were a disaster, let me tell you, but I’m still quite happy with it. I also took part in the Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon for the first time and I had a lot of fun, truly. The biggest part of my reading was done the first two weeks of April. I picked a book right after the other; my mood at the time allowed it but then, something happened, which I would fangirl about later so stay tuned! I’m gonna try and be short about this and tell you my rating and why in ...

March 2015

Another month done and dusted and I just wanna cry because I can’t believe April is upon us already. Remember last month when I read so much even though I was also studying for finals? Well, I’ve come to the conclusion that I read more under pressure because I didn’t have much to do this month and my reading wasn’t as much as previous months. Still, I’m very, very happy with it: 5 books and a play. Also, I had a bit of a bookhangover thanks to one particular remarkable book called All the Light We Cannot See but let’s start from the beginning, shall we? 1. Oedipus Rex  by Sophocles 2. Nightfall Gardens  by Allen Houston 3. The Girl on the Train  by Paula Hawkins 4. All the Light We Cannot See  by Anthony Doerr 5. The Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm 6. Zodiac  by Romina Russell

February 2015

February has gone in no time and I can’t believe is almost March. In February I read 8 books. Woo Hoo! Still trying to figure out how I did it though with all the exams at the beginning of the month. 1. The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead 2. The Rose Master by Valentina Cano 3. The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness 4. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han 5. Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead 6. Slammed by Colleen Hoover 7. Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel 8. The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson

2015 Bookish Goals and Resolutions

Tuesday is supposed to be dedicated to Top Ten Tuesday but since I don’t have ten bookish goals and resolutions for 2015, I’ve decided to just talk you through what I want to do related to my bookish world this next year – which is completely upon us and it’s freaking me out but hey, people say odd years are always luckier. Let’s see if that’s right!
